    Chief Ernest I. Reigstad

The Police Department, with headquarters in the Municipal building, provides 24-hour police coverage 365 days of the year and is equipped with a modern 911 telecommunications center. All dispatchers are certified as 911 Telecommunicators and Emergency Medical Dispatch personnel. Our forty Police Department personnel are fully trained professionals who are sworn to serve and protect the citizens of our community. Included in the Department is a Detective Bureau, Traffic Bureau, Patrol, and Community Service Bureau. The Community Service Bureau offers talks to citizens concerning safety, drug and alcohol abuse including the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program. The D.A.R.E. program is offered to our elementary and junior high school and is a seventeen week program that teaches young people to avoid drugs and alcohol and attempts to curb violence in young people. The Police Department can be reached by dialing 911 for emergencies and 729-6121 for non-emergency calls.
