The Finance Department is divided into three sections: Tax Assessment, Tax Collection, and Purchasing / Disbursement. The Assessors's Office is responsible for property valuation, while the Tax Collector assures the proper billing and collection of local property taxes. The Purchasing Department serves as the business office of Sparta's government.
