Sparta Glen - Then and Now
Here are some pictures of the Sparta Glen as it appeared days after the flood. Scroll through the photos and see the work in progress. There are pictures of the slope work for the rebuilding of Glen Road as well as an Eagle Scout project. You will also see the work performed by a crew from Parks and Recreation that included streambank work and tree and shrub installation.

Eagle Scout Project - Picture 1 This was an Eagle Scout project done by Josh Thompson in the Fall of 2004. The location is just upstream of the large arch culvert in the first section of the Glen.	Eagles Scout Project - Picture 2 Another photo of the project. Some of the compenents that were installed include new picnic tables (built by Josh and his crew), new grills and plant materials.

Eagle Scout Project - Picture 5	Action Now Project - Picture 1 Sparta Township received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for the Sparta Glen in the amount of $64,000. With this money, the Township was able to stabilize the streambanks and purchase trees and shrubs. The work was completed during the summer and fall of 2004 with the tree plantings being done by members of Parks and Recreation in November of 2004.
